Former England midfielder Ray Wilkins has listed the qualities he likes in Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish.

Former Chelsea, Manchester United and England midfielder Ray Wilkins told talkSPORT why he’s been so impressed by Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish.

The midfielder has quickly become part of Aston Villa’s midfield under Tim Sherwood and he’s someone who could be part of the side for several years.

He produced a superb performance in the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool and will have a big role to play in the game against Arsenal at Wembley tomorrow afternoon.

“I think he’s looked really impressive I have to say. He carries the ball well, he keeps the ball in tight areas, he’s got two good feet and I think he’s going to become an exceptional player – There’s a lot of potential in his ability and he’s only going to get stronger,” said Wilkins.

Sherwood has a difficult challenge on his hands because he knows Grealish is a player that Arsenal will try and target.

He needs to find a method of keeping him effective in the final tomorrow, while also protecting him against any physical aggression aimed towards him by the Gunners.

Grealish is very quick footed and able to dodge some heavy challenges, but Arsenal will be looking to rattle him, isolate him and to take him out of the game early on.

If Villa push on for a win tomorrow, then there’s a good chance they are going to need to take control of midfield and Grealish will need to have a big game in the middle of the team.

It could be further justification of the belief in his talent or a sign of a first major challenge if he’s dominated by Arsenal.
