Ray Wilkins comments on Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli

Former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Ray Wilkins suggested on the Premier League Daily show on Sky Sports News on Monday morning (10am, September 18, 2017) that he has not been impressed with the performance of Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli in the opening weeks of the season.

Alli has featured in five Premier League matches for Tottenham so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.

The 21-year-old is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and is one of the most promising young players in entire Europe.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Wilkins does not seem to have been too impressed with how the England international striker has performed so far this season.

“I don’t think we are seeing the best of Dele Alli this year,” said Wilkins about Alli on the Premier League Daily show on Sky Sports News on Monday morning (10am, September 18, 2017).

“I think he is not quite at it for Tottenham this year. Last year we saw him in much more advanced positions. He is a lot deeper this year.”

Alli joined Tottenham from Milton Keynes Dons in February 2015 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £5 million.

The youngster scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in 35 Premier League starts for Tottenham during the 2016-17 campaign.
