Vincent Janssen is yet to score from open play for Tottenham Hotspur.

Ray Wilkins has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 31st October, that Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen does not seem to fit the team.

Janssen was brought to White Hart Lane from AZ Alkmaar last summer, but the Dutch striker has not had the desired impact at Spurs.

Janssen is yet to score from open play for Tottenham, with all three of his goals coming from the penalty spot.

The 22-year-old has had a run of games, with Harry Kane out injured, but he has struggled to replace the England international.

And Wilkins believes that Kane’s imminent return for Tottenham, could help them start getting back to winning ways.

“They are playing with the same vigour and energy as they did last year. But Harry Kane has been injured,” Wilkins said.

“Harry is going to come back as fresh as a daisy. Janssen has not really kicked off yet. His game does not seem to be geared towards Tottenham at this moment in time.”

Kane has been out for a sizeable amount of time with an ankle injury, but he could be back in Spurs’ squad for their next match against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.

Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Kane won’t start for Spurs at Wembley, but he is expected to feature against Arsenal in the North London derby at the weekend.
