Ray Wilkins has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 13th December, that West Ham United should snap up Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.

David Moyes has confirmed that Wilshere could be on his wishlist in January, if he is available.

And Wilkins believes that signing the England international for West Ham would be a good move.

The pundit said: “I think 25 years of age, I don’t know how much you’d have to pay, but because Arsene doesn’t play him, he needs to move. I’d love to see him play, because I think he could get to the World Cup. I’d snap him up all day long, I really would.

“London guy, his family are West Ham supporters, why not go to West Ham? David Moyes has them rocking at the moment.”

Wilshere has struggled for game time at Arsenal over the past two seasons, with Arsene Wenger seemingly having his doubts over the central midfielder.

Wilshere was sent out on loan to Bournemouth last term, and has not managed to break back into the Gunners’ team this time around.

West Ham are expected to invest in January, as Moyes wants to add further quality to his squad.

West Ham are battling against the drop, and realise that having a good January transfer window could be crucial to their survival chances.

If Wilshere was to move to West Ham he would be in competition with the likes of Pedro Obiang and Mark Noble for a first-team place.
