Ray Wilkins says Chelsea-linked Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should leave Arsenal, while Daniel Gabbidon suggests he should move to Manchester United.

Former Chelsea midfielder Ray Wilkins has told talkSPORT that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should leave Arsenal in the January transfer window.

According to The Sun, Chelsea want to sign the England international attacker as a replacement for Eden Hazard.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Belgium international Hazard, who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, is wanted by Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Wilkins believes that Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is only 22 years of age and can play as a winger or as a central midfielder, should leave Arsenal this month.

“I would say to Oxlade-Chamberlain: leave, because he needs to be playing football,” Wilkins told talkSPORT. “We’ve got these massive Championships coming up in the summer.

“He’s very positive and he’s quick. I think you could even play him in a midfield three because he can go past people. He’s a super young player and I like him immensely.”

Former West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United defender Daniel Gabbidon believes that Manchester United would be a better club for Oxlade-Chamberlain than Chelsea.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been on the books of Arsenal since 2011, but he has yet to establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup.

The former Southampton youngster has featured in 17 Premier League games for the Gunners so far this season, creating 14 chances in the process.
