Ray Wilkins and Charlie Nicholas predict West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur will face each other in the Premier League on Friday evening.

Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur will win against West Ham United on Friday evening.

Tottenham will take on West Ham away from home at the London Stadium in the Premier League in a few hours’ time.

Former Arsenal forward Nicholas has backed Spurs to pick up all three points from the London derby.

“I have done West Ham the last few weeks and they have been suffering with injuries,” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “There is no doubt that, even as an Arsenal fan, Spurs are playing fantastically well, they have not given up, they are squeezing Chelsea all the way, which is making it very interesting.

“I am expecting Spurs to be too strong for West Ham and close the gap to one point because they just don’t look like they are going to stop winning. Friday night will be sensational because Spurs are in form but they have to go for it and maybe take a risk or two.

“Spurs are playing first but they need to get the job done. Middlesbrough on Monday you would still expect Chelsea to win. They are so convincing and thorough in the way they go about their business and have plenty of match-winners.”

Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins has also predicted Spurs to win, and said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, May 5, 2017): “I see a Tottenham win.

“Had this been at Upton Park, I would have said West Ham or a draw, but it’s not at Upton Park, it’s at the London Stadium. I will give Tottenham to win.”

Tottenham will head into the match against West Ham on the back of a 2-0 victory over Arsenal at White Hart Lane in the North London derby.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are just four points behind leaders and London rivals Chelsea in second place in the table and can still win the title.

Spurs will head into the London derby against West Ham as favourites, and it will come as a surprise if they lose.

Meanwhile, West Ham currently find themselves 15th in the Premier League table with 39 points from 35 matches, seven points above the relegation zone.

The Hammers will head into the match against Tottenham on the back of a goalless draw with Stoke City away from home at the bet365 Stadium in the league.
