The Arsenal defender was truly awful against Crystal Palace today.

Former Arsenal Footballer Ray Parlour speaks during the Western Sydney Wanderers Gold Star Luncheon at The Westin on July 14, 2017 in Sydney, Australia.

Arsenal suffered a bitterly disappointing 3-2 defeat at home to Crystal Palace today, and Ray Parlour took to Twitter, criticising Shkodran Mustafi’s part in one of the visitor’s goals.

The Gunners failed to capitalise on Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester City yesterday and Manchester United’s 4-0 thrashing at Everton earlier today, and they remain in fourth spot in the Premier League table.

Mesut Ozil got Arsenal back in the game with a goal straight after the break, and many would have backed Unai Emery’s side to then go on and win.

Mustafi’s woeful defending after 61 minutes gifted Palace their second goal, however, after he allowed Wilfried Zaha to ghost in behind him onto a flick on, rather than just clear his lines.

The Germany international is a much-maligned figure at the Emirates, and he has never lived up to his £35 million price-tag after joining Arsenal from Valencia in the summer of 2016.
