Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has stated that Tottenham signing, Ivan Perisic, would be a ‘good move’ and he’s a ‘top player’, as he told talkSPORT on Tuesday morning.

The former midfielder added that Arsenal ‘blew it’ regarding Champions League football and admitted that Spurs now have the ‘right’ manager in charge.

Antonio Conte has done wonders ever since he replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in the dugout and many question if Spurs would have secured fourth spot if they didn’t bring the Italian in.

Now, it’s a case of backing Conte in the summer transfer market, with rumours suggesting that they are closing on bringing Perisic to the club.

Parlour was asked about that possible Perisic deal and if he’s worried, from an Arsenal perspective, about Tottenham.

On being worried as an Arsenal man about Tottenham: “I always have a bet with my Spurs mates, ‘oh, we have a chance this year’.

“But they blew it, in the end, Arsenal. They (Spurs) have got the right manager now. They know they have the right manager.

“Now, Daniel Levy, it’s all down to him. ‘We have the right manager, now let’s back him’.

“Good move. Perisic is a good player. He’s a top player – that’s not a bad front three, Son, Kane and Perisic.”

NOW IT’S LEVY’S TIME TO SHINE

Mauricio Pochettino put Tottenham in the strongest position they had been in decades and decades, but he wasn’t rewarded for it.

Levy should have packed the now-PSG boss in the transfer market with more aggression and speed.

But, whilst those in the Spurs boardroom failed their former boss back then, they can’t afford to do the same with Conte.

The one-time Premier League winner has delivered Champions League football, now it’s up to those upstairs to bring in the players he wants.

Signing Perisic would be a great start and a player that would add serious value to this already free-scoring Tottenham forward line.
