The Bournemouth boss has been named as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger.
Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has told talkSPORT he thinks it is too soon for Eddie Howe to take charge at the Emirates Stadium.
Current manager Arsene Wenger is heading into the final year of his contract at the club and all indications have been he will bring his long tenure to an end when it runs out.
If that is to be the case, the club’s hierarchy is likely to already be drawing up a shortlist of potential replacements.
One man who has been linked is Bournemouth boss Howe, with the Daily Star reporting last month that he was being considered.
Parlour, though, doubts that could happen as he thinks it is too soon for him to take charge of a big club.
“I don’t think he would know enough about big foreign players to attract them,” he told talkSPORT.
“He is doing a wonderful job at Bournemouth and he could be a manager in the future for Arsenal, but I think it is a little bit too soon for him at the moment.”
Another factor that may also be a deterrent for Arsenal is how David Moyes’ appointment at Manchester United worked out.
He was highly rated after his time at Everton and was also replacing a long-serving manager in Sir Alex Ferguson when he took charge.
His short spell proved to be a disaster though and perhaps the Gunners would look at that and think another big name foreign boss would be a wiser move for them.
