Speaking to SportsLens, Ray Parlour has been discussing Bukayo Saka’s performances at the World Cup so far and his mentality.

Saka has been one of England’s star players over in Qatar. He’s netted three goals thus far, and there may well be plenty more where that came from.

The winger has been on fire for a good 18 months now, and to say that Parlour has been impressed would be an understatement.

Parlour says he’s been blown away by Saka, and he’s compared him to Jude Bellingham, stating that he has the same work ethic as the Borussia Dortmund star.

Saka is like Bellingham

Parlour compared the Arsenal star to the England ace.

“He’s been great to see him shining after all the stick he got off the missed penalty at the Euros. He’s a really strong character. I’ve been lucky enough to chat to him a few times and go on tour with him. He’s a really grounded young man and as long as he keeps improving the sky’s the limit. I just hope he signs up for Arsenal very quickly, that’s what I’m more worried about,” Parlour said.

“We need to get him tied down, as well as Martinelli, Saliba and the other youngsters and hopefully that will happen soon. Saka is similar to Bellingham in some ways and he’s got the same work ethic too, so hopefully he’ll track back against France if he has to.

“Gareth will probably have a few words and tell him to be wary and remind him that he might have to help double up on Mbappe at times. He’s played full-back before and he’s a versatile player so that will stand him in good stead.”

Two brightest talents

When all is said and done, Saka and Bellingham may be the two brightest talents of this generation for England.

The Arsenal ace has been shining in the Premier League for quite some time now, while Bellingham has looked like a real budding talent over in Germany.

The pair of them have been brilliant in Qatar, and if the Three Lions are to lift the World Cup later this month, these two woull have more than earned their winners’ medals.
