Ray Parlour has named the Arsenal winger who has been a really good signing for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arsenal are having a wonderful season, and one of their strengths is their wide areas and attack.

Martin Odegaard is one of the best playmakers around and has improved and developed a lot under manager Mikel Arteta.

Bukayo Saka is one of the best young wingers in the world and is one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet.

Gabriel Martinelli is another young player who has huge potential and is playing a big role for Arsenal this season.

Leandro Trossard has also started to make an impact for Arsenal, and former Gunners star Ray Parlour has been hugely impressed.

The talkSPORT pundit has noted that Trossard has been a very good signing for Arsenal, pointing out the vital goals that he is scoring.

The 29-year-old winger cost Arsenal an initial £21 million (BBC Sport) in transfer fees when they signed him from Brighton and Hove Albion in January 2023.

The Belgium international winger has scored eight goals and given one assist in 11 starts and 16 substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.

Trossard has scored four goals and provided one assist in six starts and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Arsenal this season.

One of those goals came against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie in midweek.

Ray Parlour gives his verdict on Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard

Parlour said on talkSPORT (7:56 am, April 12, 2024) when asked if Arsenal could win against Bayern in the second leg: “Absolutely yeah. They have got goals from all over the pitch at the moment.

“Trossard has been a great signing, he really has. He came off the bench again and got a vital goal.

“Martinelli can get on the scoresheet, Saka on the right-hand side, Havertz has picked up this season.”

Leandro Trossard could get new Arsenal contract

While Leandro Trossard is unlikely to start week in and week out when every other attacking player is fit, available and in form, Arsenal know how valuable he is.

Football Transfers reported this week that Arsenal are ready to offer the winger a new deal.

The Gunners have scheduled a meeting with the winger to extend his current deal from 2026 to 2017, with the option of an additional season.

In my opinion, it is a very good idea. Trossard is 29 now and is at the top of his game. The winger is making an impact even as a substitute.
