West Ham United have struggled in a bad way so far this season.
Ray Parlour has told talkSPORT that Mark Noble is among the West Ham United players who needs to look at himself.
West Ham slumped to a 5-1 defeat at home to Arsenal on Saturday in what was very much a new low for the Irons this season.
It was a third defeat in five Premier League matches for Slaven Bilic’s side – the other two being draws – and those back-to-back wins over Crystal Palace and Sunderland seem like a long, long time ago now.
Only Ashley Fletcher really covered himself in glory as a whole host of Hammers failed to turn up, but the ex-Arsenal man has singled out the club’s skipper and noted that Noble – who has started 13 of United’s 14 league outings – is not playing well at all for the moment.
He told talkSPORT: “West Ham have got to look at themselves and say, ‘Look, we’ve got to start competing here’ – Payet, Lanzini, and even people like Noble, who has not been playing well at all at the moment.”
West Ham are only one point above the relegation zone in 17th, but they might yet slip into the bottom three next weekend if they lost at Liverpool.
This time last year, Bilic’s boys were competing for a Champions League spot and it must be a very sobering experience for the club’s fans thus far.
