The former midfielder believes the Liverpool and Manchester City managers are similar.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Ray Parlour has likened Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to Pep Guardiola because of the strict styles they implement.
The two managers are considered to be among the best in the world after the success they have enjoyed in the game.
Both are known for having their own distinctive footballing styles, with Klopp preferring his Geggenpressing and Guardiola a passing game.
They are also managers that demand the utmost from their teams, even when they are arguably putting in top level performances, and Parlour says he believes that Klopp is very similar to the Manchester City boss.
“I think Klopp now has got a team that’s going to really work hard. He will always demand more, he’s a little bit like Guardiola. He’s going to demand so much of that team,” he told talkSPORT.
One man who looks key to the Liverpool’s style this season is Sadio Mane, a summer recruit from Southampton.
Many eyebrows were raised when the Reds paid close to £40 million for his services in the transfer window but he has started the season on fire, playing a key role in the side so far.
He was once again in fine form in the win over Leicester City this weekend and Parlour has hailed their decision to bring him on board.
“We talk about signings, Pogba was a big signing, but what a signing Mane has been from Southampton,” he added.
“He’s a player with pace, great ability and scores you goals. If you look at their strike force, going forward it’s not a problem.”
