Spurs have signed a number of their first team players to improved deals in recent weeks, but one stands out for the former England international.
Former footballer Ray Parlour
Gunners legend Ray Parlour has been discussing the recent flurry of new contracts Tottenham Hotspur have been rewarding their first team players with, and he has told Sky Sports that it is only a good thing for the White Hart Lane outfit as they prepare to move into a new stadium.
Danny Rose is the most recent star to sign improved and extended terms at Spurs, agreeing to stay until 2021, but he probably won’t be the last, with the likes of Mousa Dembele, Kevin Wimmer, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Harry Winks, Tom Carroll, Kyle Walker and Dele Alli all signing extensions since the turn of the year, and several other players said to be in discussions.

Parlour was particularly impressed with the club tying down Alli until 2022, given the manner in which the 20-year-old has taken English football by storm after arriving from MK Don’s barely more than a season ago.
“It’s excellent business, especially Dele Alli,” he told Sky Sports. “I’m sure they would have tried to sign him on a 10-year contract if they could because he’s such an exciting talent.
“I think Pochettino knows that he’s got a good clutch of players who are going to go forward, that are going to get better, and improve as a team.”
As a former Arsenal midfielder, Parlour may be making his admission through somewhat gritted teeth, but as a passionate former England international, he should be delighted with the work Spurs are doing at bringing through and getting the most out of their academy prospects.

Going on to highlight the important of Pochettino’s first choice midfielders, Parlour also stated that a deal for Walker, just hours before it was announced, was excellent business, with the right-back having impressed in the opening stages of this season.
“The midfield area: Dembele, very important, Alli, Dier,” Parlour added.
“And obviously Kyle Walker, I think he’s negotiating as we speak now.
“They’ve got their new stadium moving forward and these players are going to be part of that.”
It looks as if Spurs are going to have all their key figures tied to the club for the best years of their career at this rate, and in place as they move to their new stadium in 2018.
