Both West Ham and Everton inherited new managers over the summer.
Ray Parlour has told TalkSPORT that he could see Arsene Wenger returning to work in the Premier League and reckons Everton or West Ham United would be his best options.
Wenger is out of work since leaving Arsenal in the summer after 22 years at the club, since being linked with the Monaco role which has been filled by former Arsenal and Monaco legend Thierry Henry.
At 68 years of age, it remains to be seen if Wenger will indeed return to management, with the Frenchman yet to rule out a return to professional football in some capacity.
Ex-Gunners midfielder Parlour played under Wenger during his playing career, winning three Premier League titles with the French boss, and he reckons Everton or West Ham would be suitable for his old manager.
“I would love to see him back,” Parlour said. “What sort of club would it be? I would say somewhere like Everton. He wouldn’t get a top six side, would he? I can’t see that.
“I think with Wenger he will got a club that are right on the coattails of the top six. He might go to West Ham, they would have to give him the financial backing to get into the top six.”
Both Everton and West Ham have appointed new managers in the summer, with the Toffees finally landing Marco Silva while West Ham made a somewhat surprising appointment in the form of Manuel Pellegrini.
Pellegrini has begun to turn around a bad start thanks to wins over Everton and Manchester United, while Silva’s work in the transfer window has been praised – as well as bringing what seems to be the best out of Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Neither seem to be in too much danger of losing their job, but if either do receive the sack, Wenger could be in line to replace them.
