Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle has scored 11 goals in 11 matches.
Ray Parlour has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 19th October, that Dwight Gayle has been a brilliant signing for Newcastle United.
Gayle was brought to Newcastle from Crystal Palace last summer, and the forward has quickly made an impact at St. James’ Park.
The 25-year-old has netted 11 goals in his first 11 Championship matches for the Magpies.
And Parlour has backed Gayle to top the division’s scoring charts by the end of the season.
“He’s a brilliant signing,” Parlour said. “He’s a poacher, he gets in the right positions and I thought he was a certainty to finish as top scorer in the Championship.”
Gayle is already leading the Championship’s scoring charts, and his form is getting better by the game.
Gayle has now netted seven goals in his last four appearances for Newcastle, with Rafael Benitez’s squad learning how to get the best out of him.
Gayle’s latest two strikes came during Newcastle’s 2-0 win over Barnsley at Oakwell last night.
Newcastle’s victory against the Tykes has pushed them up to the top of the Championship table.
