Liverpool are likely to look for a new goalkeeper in the summer.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Ray Clemence has told the Liverpool Echo that Jurgen Klopp must solve the Reds’ goalkeeping crisis once and for all by signing Stoke City stopper Jack Butland.
Simon Mignolet has recently been dropped of late in favour of German goalkeeper Loris Karius, but question marks still remain over the duo despite the Reds’ impressive recent defensive form.
Karius, signed by Klopp from German side Mainz, conceded at his neap post as Roma produced a mini revival on Tuesday night to end the first leg of the Champions league semi-final 5-2 despite being 5-0 ahead.

Now, Clemece has urged his old side to sign England international Butland in the summer and finally put an end to Liverpool’s problem area between the sticks.
“I still think to be a team that has got a chance of winning the league title is that we need a top quality goalkeeper,” Clemence said. “I’d go with Jack Butland of Stoke. I’ve known Jack since he was 15. I’ve worked with him since he was 16.
“He’s one of these lovely people … when you are talking to people, it’s great when they look you in the eye and you know they are taking it in, and they want to learn from experienced people.”

Butland could look to leave Stoke this summer as the Potters are losing their fight to survive relegation from the Premier League, despite having three years left on his contract at the Britannia Stadium.
The Daily Mail claim West Ham United are interested in signing the 25-year-old goalkeeper, as well as Joe Allen from Paul Lambert’s side and Liverpool would have to rival the Hammers for Butland’s signature.
