Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez has revealed to The Sun that he has received messages on Instagram from Manchester United fans asking him to stop Liverpool from winning the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool will take on Wolves at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds will head into the match still in with a chance of clinching the league title this season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are just a point behind leaders Manchester City, who will take on Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the league on the final day of the season.

Wolves forward Jimenez has revealed that he has received messages from fans of Manchester United, Manchester City and the Wanderers, urging him to help his side win against Liverpool.

Jimenez told The Sun: “I receive messages on Instagram all the time from Manchester City, Manchester United and Wolves fans, who tell me, ‘You must win’ and, ‘We don’t want Liverpool to win the league so give 100 per cent’.

“It makes me smile because if it was any other team playing at Anfield I would want Liverpool to win. But my dream is to score in front of the Kop.”

Jimenez joined Wolves on a season-long loan deal from Portuguese club Benfica in the summer of 2018.

Wolves have already signed the 27-year-old on a permanent contract for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £30 million.

According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old Mexico international forward has made 35 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Wanderers, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in the process.
