Colorado Rapids are interested in Ross McCormack but after Scott Hogan’s turnaround in form does he deserve a chance to do the same at Aston Villa?

McCormack has just returned to Villa Park after a successful loan spell in Australia with Melbourne City, where the 31-year-old scored 14 goals in 17 A-League matches.

Having struggled at Villa so far under manager Steve Bruce it is widely believed that the Scotland international has no future with the 56-year-old in charge, but does the turnaround in form of another squad member suggest he also deserves another chance?
That squad member is Scott Hogan, who was also criticised for his performances in the early part of this season and rumoured to be leaving the club.

However, Hogan has since rediscovered the scoring touch that convinced the Villans to pay £12m (BBC) to Brentford on deadline day of the 2017 January transfer window in the first place, netting five times in his last seven Championship outings.
In Bruce’s 4-2-3-1 system McCormack would certainly face competition with Albert Adomah, Jack Grealish and Robert Snodgrass having been in fine form in attacking midfield, but the Scot could still have plenty to offer as the team push for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
