Tim Vickery says ex-Everton and Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti, is a possible contender to become Brazil’s next manager after their early World Cup exit in Qatar.

The South American football expert stated that there is talk of the Real Madrid manager replacing the now-departed Tite, ‘rather than Pep Guardiola’, who has been talked about.

Whilst Brazil are a footballing powerhouse, regardless of whoever dons their famous yellow colours, the expectancy will always be to win the World Cup and Copa America.

The issue is that they haven’t won football’s biggest prize since 2002 and their penalty shootout heartache against Croatia has only resulted in the nation going into football mourning.

In Brazil’s rich and colourful history, they have never had a foreign coach, but now some are being talked about and Vickery shared his thoughts on the Ancelotti situation, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

“There is much more talk coming out of Brazil, at the moment, of Ancelotti, rather than Guardiola,” said Vickery.

“Apparently, Ancelotti was sounded a few months ago and he said ‘in theory, he might be interested’. Now. obviously, he’s not going to leave Real Madrid, at the moment, but that one could be one for the future.

“But it would really be revolutionary for Brazil to appoint a foreign coach and any foreign coach taking charge of the Brazilian team will not be in for an easy ride.”

ANCELOTTI FITS BRAZIL PERFECTLY

One of Ancelotti’s great strengths over the years has been his ability to manage tough situations and big names, time and time again.

The coolest man in the stadium, with that iconic eyebrow, he is one of the world’s best and the most decorated coach, who is still actively working on the domestic circuit.

Someone like Ancelotti, who took the Everton job in 2019 before departing during the summer of 2021, would thrive in the pressure cooker environment of that Brazil job, he would be able to manage the big names and how every bit of detail is scrutinised.

He gets it on a weekly basis at Real Madrid, but it’s not going to be easy to prize away the legendary coach from his current surroundings.
