Al Qadsia defender Rashid Sumaila has taken to Twitter to bid farewell to loan club Al-Gharafa, amid recent speculation surrounding a move to Rangers.
Rangers lost 5-1 to Old Firm rivals Celtic last month, highlighting that new manager Pedro Caixinha needs to bring in some defensive reinforcements during the summer transfer window.
Whilst The Express report that Caixinha is interested in landing Portugal international Bruno Alves, speculation also suggests that Caixinha wants to reunite with a defender he worked with in Qatar.
The Daily Mail report that the Gers boss is keen on Ghanaian international Rashid Sumaila, and carried quotes from his agent about the extent of Rangers’ interest.

Pedro Serpa Pinto claimed that Rangers have already made initial contact with the player and Al Qadsia, his club in Kuwait, in a bid to get a summer deal lined up.
Sumaila, 24, joined Al Qadsia in 2015 after spells with Ebusua Dwarfs, Asante Kotoko and Mamelodi Sundowns, but joined up with Caixinha in Qatar by joining Al-Gharafa.

Many expect the six-cap Ghana international to reunite with Caixinha this summer, and Gers fans will have been paying close attention to the defender’s Twitter account on Monday evening.
Sumaila took to Twitter to send a farewell message to Al-Gharafa, and whilst that simply means that he is heading back to Al Qadsia, it could take him one step closer to a move to Ibrox this summer.
