Some Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been reacting to the news that Morgan Sanson is in Marseille’s matchday squad for their clash against Monaco this weekend.
The French midfielder was thought to be close to a move to Aston Villa, but it seems as though Sanson isn’t quite on the verge of moving to England as he looks set to play a part for Marseille on Saturday.
Of course, until a deal is done and dusted, Marseille have every right to play Sanson as he is still there player, but as you can imagine, the fact that he’s involved for them this weekend has sent the Villa fanbase into a bit of a frenzy.
Indeed, fans were quick to panic that a deal now wouldn’t happen, claiming that this situation reminds them of their failed pursuit of Milot Rashica in the summer, who was a player they came very close to signing before failing to reach an agreement.
Whether or not a deal for Sanson does get done remains to be seen, but it has to be said that it seems likely as there have been claims it is close.
