Manchester United have some of the best young talent in the game.

Much is made of what exactly constitutes a world-class player in the modern game.

Manchester United certainly have one in the form of David de Gea, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is doing everything in his power to cling on to that label despite recently turning 35.

But what about the next generation of potential world-class stars at Old Trafford?

Here we take a look at the players who should, in time, reach that level if they continue on their current trajectory.

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford celebrates scoring their first goal

Marcus Rashford

When Marcus Rashford first burst onto the scene last season he was quickly dubbed the next Federico Macheda by the doubters. But while the Italian had one great moment in a United shirt before quickly fading into obscurity, the England international is the real deal.

Of all United’s next generation, Rashford is the player with the most potential – a striker with a wonderful eye for goal, pace to burn and the footballing brain of a player 10 years his senior.

Manchester United's Anthony Martial celebrates scoring their first goal

Anthony Martial

This season has not gone according to plan for Anthony Martial but he is still only 20 and he possesses all the ingredients to dominate the game for the next decade and beyond.

Tipped as the heir apparent to Thierry Henry, Martial has it all, and if he can get his head straight he could form a devastating partnership with Rashford.

Paul Pogba

Given the money United paid for Paul Pogba he should already be world-class, but he is not.

Still only 23, the Frenchman has a long way to go but he has a burning ambition to be the best of the best and he can achieve that at Old Trafford.

He needs the right central midfield partner (currently Michael Carrick) and consistency to really kick on and justify his price tag.
