RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner isn’t sure about a potential move to West Ham United amid rumoured interest from Manchester United.

Timo Werner’s time at Chelsea may put him off the idea of a return to London with West Ham United.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Werner is now ‘apprehensive’ about a Premier League return.

West Ham are likely to be in the market for another striker in the January transfer window.

Divin Mubama has big potential but experienced strikers Michail Antonio and Danny Ings aren’t making a huge impact.

West Ham United keen on Timo Werner

90Min reported earlier this month that West Ham were an option for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

Crystal Palace and Fulham were also mentioned as potential suitors with January loan moves seemingly in mind.

Werner has started just two Bundesliga games this season and may need to leave RB Leipzig in order to play regular first-team football.

However, TEAMtalk claim that Werner isn’t sure about a Premier League return because of his time at Chelsea.

Werner is allegedly ‘scarred’ from his two years in West London and would prefer to stay in Germany – even if he has to leave RB Leipzig.

Werner joined Chelsea in 2020 but only managed 10 goals in 56 games before heading back to RB Leipzig.

Now struggling for minutes, Werner still doesn’t seem all that interested in heading back to the Premier League – but one enormous suitor has emerged.

Manchester United in the Werner race

A surprise rumour emerged on Monday night as Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claimed that Manchester United want Werner.

Plettenberg reports that United have ‘already enquired’ into a deal for Werner ahead of the January window.

United are seemingly in the market for another striker and Werner fits the transition-heavy approach Erik ten Hag wants.

Werner has been hailed as ‘rapid’ by former RB Leipzig teammate Tyler Adams with his pace causing problems for defenders over the years.

Beating the Red Devils to his signature will be a battle for West Ham, but maybe a promise of guaranteed first-team action can tempt him to the London Stadium.
