Raphinha left Leeds United for Barcelona in the summer but his latest Instagram post shows just how much he still has the Premier League club in his heart, still – posting a picture with a pink Leeds United dog lead around his neck.
The 25-year-old has made a decent-enough start to life at Barcelona. Starting four of his five appearances for Xavi’s side, the Brazilian has scored one goal and laid on an assist. He netted in a 3-0 win over Sevilla earlier this month.
Barcelona look excellent so far. They have scored a huge 20 goals in their opening six matches, five of which came in a Champions League game against Viktoria Plzen in which Raphinha remained an unused substitute. Five wins in six.
Robert Lewandowski has made a seamless transition from German football to Barcelona, scoring nine goals in six. But Raphinha’s contribution has been good, too. His replacement, Luis Sinisterra, already has three goals for Leeds so far.
But it is clear that Leeds has had a lasting impression on Raphinha – despite only spending two years at the club. The Brazil international posted a picture alongside his partner and dog, with a pink Leeds dog lead – to the delight of fans.

For Leeds fans, it is nice to see that while Raphinha might have ultimately used Leeds as a stepping stone to get to the likes of Barcelona – they are still a part of his life. He has not forgotten the joy he brought to Leeds fans while at there.
Whether Raphinha ever ends up back at Elland Road in some capacity, who knows. But right now, he could make his Champions League debut for Barca when they travel to Germany to face Lewandowski’s old side Bayern on Tuesday.
