Raphinha has posted on Instagram ‘back to work’ after he missed Leeds United’s defeat to Southampton over the weekend.

It would have been disappointing, both for the Leeds fans and the player himself, when he was left out at St Mary’s because his side missed his presence out on the field big time.

Given that Raphinha had returned late from international duty – like many South American players – Marcelo Bielsa opted against naming him in the matchday squad, despite him travelling to the South Coast.

On one hand, it was a special week for the light-footed trickster, who made his debut for Brazil and started off like a house on fire, by both scoring and assisting.

He even drew praise from World Cup-winning legend Ronaldinho, who wrote the book on tricks and flicks in the game.

Nonetheless, this is the message Raphinha posted to Leeds fans, as he returns to action.

It’s not only Raphinha that needs to return to action for Leeds, but the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford as well.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are just hovering above the relegation zone, with only one win to their name this season.

At this moment in time, three teams – Burnley, Newcastle and Norwich – are proving to be much worse than them.

But for how long will that last? The Whites need to get some consistency under their belt as soon as possible, else they will fall into a hole that might just prove to be too deep to get out of.
