Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha kicks out at a water bottle during the Betfred League Cup Semi Final between Rangers and Motherwell at Hampden Park on October 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers brought in a number of signings in the summer under former manager Pedro Caixinha, as the Portuguese boss decided to add an influx of overseas talent to his Rangers side.

Now, Caixinha’s signings are under the stewardship of Graeme Murty as the Gers continue to challenge Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table. Here, we rank Rangers’ 11 summer signings.

11 – Dalcio

Huge expectation and excitement surrounded Ibrox when the Benfica winger was confirmed on a season-long loan. But the speed machine has been completely forgotten about by sections of the Ibrox crowd, featuring just once in the league.

10 – Aaron Nemane

Similarly to Dalcio, fans were intrigued to see how good the Manchester City loanee could be, with some hoping he could emulate Celtic’s City loan star Patrick Roberts. Much the opposite, as he struggles for game time.

9 – Eduardo Herrera

The powerful centre-forward has scored just two goals for Rangers after moving for a pricey transfer fee, as he is yet to be given a proper run in the side. Kenny Miller remains in the first team, perhaps unfairly, and that leaves the Mexico international without the game time required to show his prowess.

Fabio Cardoso of Rangers gestures during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers FC and Celtic FC at Ibrox Stadium on September 23, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

8 – Fabio Cardoso

Sidelined with a nose injury earlier this season, Cardoso has failed to win his place back in the side due to the form of Danny Wilson and Bruno Alves. Again, a fair amount of money was spent on the 23-year-old, but he is yet to prove that.

7 – Carlos Pena

Bit of a hit and miss with 19-time Mexico international Pena, 27. Signed for a huge fee, believed to be around £2.8million, Pena has scored five goals but has also gone missing in other games. For the money spent, not good enough – consistency is needed.

6 – Bruno Alves

The veteran defender was expected to be a class above the Scottish Premiership, in what was considered a huge coup to sign a Euro 2016 champion. However, it is almost as though Alves has been found out. He has not played badly, but a lot more was expected.

5 – Ryan Jack

When he is available, the former Aberdeen ace has been exceptional. But four red cards, even though two have been rescinded, is ridiculous. Jack is a liability, but a must in the side.

Graham Dorrans of Rangers in action during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium on August 12, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

4 – Graham Dorrans

The former Norwich City ace has hardly put a foot wrong since travelling to Ibrox to sign for the club he has always supported, but an ankle injury has seen him sidelined since October 25. Unlucky, rather than disappointing.

3 – Daniel Candeias

With the most assists in the Scottish Premiership, Portuguese winger Candeias has been an excellent signing by Caixinha as he continues to provide Rangers’ creativity. However, he is not in the starting eleven at the moment. More needs to be done, but a strong start to life at Ibrox.

2 – Declan John

It was always going to take a lot to displace club captain Lee Wallace. But Cardiff City loanee John has done just that with aplomb, as he offers an extra attacking dimension from the left. A permanent deal must be struck.

1 – Alfredo Morelos

Rangers top goalscorer has shown his quality, as well as his mental determination. Already reaching double figures, Morelos went 10 games without scoring but the 21-year-old has put that behind him. A top, top signing.
