Glasgow Rangers striker Zak Rudden has taken to Twitter following the announcement that he had signed a new one-year deal at Ibrox with a message for the Bears fanbase which received a positive response.

The 19-year-old scored in Steven Gerrard’s first game as Light Blues boss last season as the Gers beat Bury in a friendly, before enjoying a fruitful loan spell at Falkirk, scoring 12 goals in 31 appearances.

With Rangers flying out to Portugal this weekend as they prepare for an eight-day training camp ahead of a busy July with Europa League qualifiers and friendlies, Rudden will be hoping to give Gerrard food for thought regarding his 2019-20 plans.

Rudden is yet to make a senior appearance for Gers, but was named on the substitutes bench for last season’s Europa League qualifying tie away in Macedonia against FK Shkupi, and following his progress this term, he will surely fancy his chances of breaking into the first team.
