Rangers striker Zak Lovelace is already training with the first team as one of the early decisions made by new boss Michael Beale.

The Gers announced their new manager on Monday as Michael Beale made a return to Ibrox just one a year after leaving.

The deal came exactly seven days after Rangers sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Whilst most fans agree with the decision to sack Van Bronckhorst, the decision to bring Beale – a former assistant coach under Steven Gerrard – back to Ibrox has divided some.

Zak Lovelace is already training with Rangers first team

Beale has Rangers at heart though after his first spell at the club and will know plenty about the squad at Ibrox.

Beale may even have had one eye on Rangers during his time away at the club.

That would have given him a knowledge of a talent like Zak Lovelace before returning to Ibrox.

Lovelace joined Rangers from Millwall over the summer and is already turning heads in Glasgow.

The 16-year-old striker has already smashed eight goals and four assists in 16 Lowland League games for Rangers B.

Add in two goals and four assists in six UEFA Youth League games and Rangers fans are already very excited about Lovelace.

That hype is only about to build though as the Daily Record report that Beale has immediately called Lovelace into first-team training.

This may mainly be because Rangers have international players with some time off and Borna Barisic at the World Cup with Croatia.

Yet Lovelace is leading the pack in terms of Rangers youth players and he has been called up to first-team training because he deserves it.

There are question marks over the future of Alfredo Morelos and Rangers would no doubt love to already have their next great striker rising through the Ibrox ranks.
