Graeme Murty has told Rangers’ official website that Danny Wilson and Niko Kranjcar both displayed brilliant attitudes when they played for the Gers’ under-20s on Friday, and suggested that the club’s youngster were raving about the Croatian.

Both Wilson and Kranjcar were playing for Murty’s men as they continue their comebacks from injury, and they helped the side claim a 3-1 victory over Dundee United, with Kranjcar amongst the players to get on the scoresheet.

And Murty has heaped praise upon both senior players following the win, suggesting that the young starlets were particularly impressed by what Kranjcar brought to the team.

“They also got some really positive modelling by playing alongside first-team players like Danny and Niko, who I have to say, displayed a brilliant attitude,” he told the club’s official website.

“The midfield players were raving about Niko’s perception of the game, how quickly he sees things, the angles he takes up and some of the things he can attempt because he is in the right place and he has seen two or three passes ahead. For them to see that up close is really good.”

Though Pedro Caixinha may not be getting carried away with Murty’s comments as they will need to take their game to another level before they make their first-team returns, he will surely be encouraged by both players’ performances.

There is perhaps a chance for Wilson to put pressure on Fabio Cardoso at centre-back, while Kranjcar’s creativity means that if he can stay fit, he could be an extremely dangerous player for Caixinha to have in the coming weeks.

And even if Caixinha has no plans to bring them back anytime soon, the fact that they are clearly on the right path will give their positional rivals all the motivation they need to step up their own games.
