Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers striker Ryan Hardie could become an important player for the Gers if he is given the chance.

Rangers striker Ryan Hardie has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that the 2017-18 campaign could be the defining season in his career.

Hardie has been on the books of Rangers his entire professional club football career so far and is hugely promising.

The 20-year-old striker has made only a handful of appearances for the Rangers first team, having also spent time on loan at Raith Rovers (twice) and St. Mirren.

The Scotland Under-21 international striker has suggested that this season could be defining for him in terms of establishing himself in the Rangers first team.

“I think this is definitely the season where I need to kick-on and prove to people what I can do and what I am capable of,” Hardie told The Glasgow Evening Times. “I need to make a name for myself at Rangers.

“People talk about me because of my goals but I need to do that for the first team. Hopefully I can get a few and prove that I don’t just have potential but that I am a player that can be at the highest level for Rangers.”

Hardie has shown his potential while playing for Rangers youth teams and on loan, and it is only a matter of time before he establishes himself in the first team.

What the Scottish youngster needs is a run of games in the first team to show what he is capable of and to enhance his confidence.

Rangers are unlikely to challenge for the Scottish Premiership title this season, but the Ibrox outfit can certainly finish second in the table.
