Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie has been linked with Ayr United, who reportedly want to sign the 20-year-old Ibrox youngster.
McCrorie spent the past season on loan at Berwick Rangers and did quite well, making as many as 41 appearances.
According to The Scottish Sun, the 20-year-old is wanted by Ayr United, who will play in the Scottish Championship after winning automatic promotion from the Scottish League One.
The report has also claimed that a number of other clubs have contacted Rangers in regarding to signing McCrorie on loan in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper has now suggested that he would leave Rangers on loan again next season.
McCrorie told The Daily Record: “Being in a first-team environment has helped me. For every young player, going out on loan is the best thing you can do. Next season there’s a chance I’ll go out on loan again.
“It’s important to be playing games. I have options at a higher level but obviously we have a new manager at Rangers so I want to have a good pre-season first.”
Rising star
McCrorie is a very talented and promising young goalkeeper who is a rising star and could establish himself in the Rangers first team in the coming years.
The success that the youngster achieved at Berwick Rangers underlines his quality, and playing in the Scottish Championship with Ayr will only make the 20-year-old a better player.
As for Rangers, Steven Gerrard’s side will be aiming to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
