Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers signed Myles Beerman from Manchester City in the summer of 2016.
Myles Beerman has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that leaving Manchester City for Rangers is not a step down.
Beerman, who has impressed for Rangers Under-20 side so far this season, left Premier League club City for the Gers in the summer of 2016.
The youngster, who is just 18 years of age and operates as a right-back, believes that he is just a step away from playing first-team football at Ibrox.
The teenager has also suggested that he left the Citizens in order to get the chance to play first-team football.
“People might not think that going from Manchester City to Rangers is a step up, but it’s another stepping stone for me towards first-team football, and the opportunity was amazing for me,” Beerman told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“Once I get my chance I will make sure that I take it. At City I was just playing youth football, but here I am just one step away from the first team and it seems a lot closer.”
City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have brilliant training facilities, but it is hard for any young player to break into the first team.
It is not going to be easy for Beerman to future in the Rangers’ senior side either, but at least he will be noticed by the club’s chiefs.
Rangers have a new manager in charge, Pedro Caixinha, and the Portuguese could be looking at youth-team players who could feature for the first team next season.
