Jordan Gibson, who boss Mark Warburton rates highly, has signed a new deal with Rangers.
Rangers youngster Jordan Gibson has signed a contract extension with the club after impressing enough in his first season.
Gibson was signed from English non-league side Alvechurch FC a year ago, after being snapped up by Rangers’ boss Mark Warburton’s scouting team.
Rangers confirmed on their official website this week that eight players from the under-20 team would be released, but Gibson is one of the players who has instead been handed a 12 month extension.
Gibson told the Bromsgrove Standard that he believes he can crack the first team next season, with injuries hampering his progress this campaign.
He said: “The contract extension just shows how far I have come as a player over the last 12 months.
“I’ve got a lot more to prove and I hope that I’ll have a good pre-season and hopefully push for a place in the first team.”
