Sadiq has been forced to play in Rangers’ reserve side.

Rangers teenager Andy Dallas has told the club’s official weekly podcast that he believes there is “chemistry” between himself and summer signing Umar Sadiq, after the duo shined together on Monday.
Graeme Murty’s reserve side earned an excellent 5-1 win over St. Mirren, with both Sadiq and Dallas notching a brace while winger Serge Atakayi also got his name on the score sheet.
On loan from Italian giants AS Roma, Nigerian target man Sadiq has hardly been given a chance to show Steven Gerrard that he deserves a place in the first team, instead of playing for the reserves.
Dallas, 19, spoke of Sadiq’s qualities in terms of height and holding the ball up, as the duo combined well at the Hummel Training Centre – with Dallas even setting up Sadiq’s first.
“I set him up for the first goal,” Dallas said. “He just nipped in at the back post. He’s a big guy and holds it up quite well, he was going short and I was running behind so you could see the chemistry working because we grabbed a couple of goals.”
The signing of Kyle Lafferty from Hearts has pushed Sadiq down the pecking order, with the 21-year-old now considered third-choice striker at Ibrox behind the Northern Ireland international and Alfredo Morelos.

Sadiq has proven he can find the back of the net at the highest level, even scoring two goals in six senior appearances for Roma as well as five goals in 12 games for Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda.
Making three substitute appearances that has equated to just 26 minutes of action, it is likely to be only a matter of time before Sadiq is given another run in the first team if he continues to score in Murty’s second string.
