Rangers are targeting a stunning swoop by attempting to sign Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Xavi Simons in a remarkable move.
Spanish newspaper AS claim that super-agent Mino Raiola is looking for a new club for Simons having failed to break through at PSG.
Simons becomes a free agent at the end of the season and could simply walk away from PSG.
Rangers are allegedly stepping forward as a potential destination because of new boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Van Bronckhorst wants to bring his fellow Dutchman to Ibrox and ‘informational contact’ has been made with Raiola, promising Simons a huge role at Rangers.
Rangers are so keen that they would even be willing to make a cash bid in January if Simons is interested.
Simons would be an outrageous coup for Rangers
Where did this come from!?
Rangers fans will probably be over the moon hearing this rumour, even if it sounds a little far-fetched.

The report notes that Barcelona want Simons back having lost him to PSG back in 2019.
The Sun have likened Simons to Frankie de Jong, another Dutch midfielder with ties to Barcelona.
Simons has long been tipped for stardom, but he may now be wanting first-team football.
Is that going to happen at Barcelona? In this current youth movement under Xavi Hernandez, maybe.
Rangers can offer Simons a starring role at Ibrox though, and whilst a deal does seem unlikely, you just never know the pulling power of Van Bronckhorst.
