Mark Warburton has been linked with bringing the Watford man to Ibrox this month.
It has been reported by the Daily Record that Rangers boss Mark Warburton is keen on bringing in Watford right-back Juan Carlos Paredes this month, as he looks to utilise the wing-back system at the club.
The Ecuador international was left out of Watford’s 25-man Premier League squad at the start of the season and has not played a game since the EFL Cup defeat to Gillingham in August.

At first look it would be a good move for Rangers. Paredes is an experienced international, with over 60 caps for the Ecuador national team and he has been impressive at Watford.
But do Rangers need him?
The simple answer is no.
Warburton already has James Tavernier as the perfect wing-back at Ibrox and in reserve he has the more defensive minded but also offensively adept Lee Hodson.
Rangers’ James Tavernier celebrates
Rangers have limited funds to bring in new faces, so wasting them on a player they really do not need would make no sense from the Glasgow side.
Rangers would be making an error in chasing down Paredes signature and should certainly focus their attention on other areas of the field.
