Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard brought Ryan Kent to Ibrox from Liverpool.
Ryan Kent of Rangers
Kent joined Rangers from Premier League club Liverpool on transfer deadline day for a fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £7 million.
The winger spent the 2018-19 season on loan at the Gers from the Reds and did well for the Ibrox club.
The 22-year-old has stated that he was all set to move to Club Brugge in Belgium before Rangers made a late call.
Kent told The Scottish Sun: “I was pretty close to getting on the flight. I was already checked in and sitting in departures at Manchester Airport. That’s when I got a call from my agent and the gaffer saying, ‘Don’t get on the flight’.”
The youngster added: “I was getting ready to fly out and sign for Club Brugge. They are in the Champions League and that was one of the main reasons I was heading there.”
Good signing for Rangers
Kent was superb for Rangers last season, and the Ibrox faithful will hope that the winger maintains that level of performance again in 2019-20.
The English youngster did well in the big games for Rangers last season, and he will have to do the same for the Gers this time around.
Gerrard’s side are challenging Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season.
