Rangers winger Barrie McKay is pleased that the Ibrox side have signed Joey Barton on a free transfer.

Rangers winger Barrie McKay has told the club’s official website that he is pleased with the signing of Joey Barton.
Former Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Barton has signed for Scottish giants Rangers on a two-year contract.
The 33-year-old Englishman has joined the Scottish Premiership-bound outfit on a free transfer.

Scotland Under-21 international winger McKay, who is just 21 years of age and was one of the best players in the Scottish Championship this past season, has welcomed the addition of the former Manchester City man to the current Gers squad.
“I have watched him play in the Premiership and the Championship, and he has been great,” McKay told Rangers’ official website. “He’s a lively character too, and I think he will be a good addition on and off the pitch.
“He’s a great player and his experience in the middle of the park will help a lot too. I can’t wait to meet him. We are going up and are expecting to challenge – you don’t play for a club like Rangers if you accept getting beaten.
“We go into every game knowing we need to win, and getting that type of player – someone who could have played in the Premier League – speaks volumes for where the club is going.”

Barton was one of the best players for Burnley in the Championship this past season. The Englishman scored three goals and created 29 chances in 38 league matches for the Clarets during the 2015-16 campaign.
The new Rangers signing had a pass accuracy of 75% and a shot accuracy of 31%, and won 67 headers, 15 dribbles and 82 tackles.
Rangers won the Scottish Championship title this past season and will feature in the Scottish Premiership during the 2015-16 campaign.
