The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, has confirmed that Middleton is leaving Ibrox on loan.
The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, has revealed that the Ibrox winger, Glenn Middleton, is set to join NAC Breda on loan.
Middleton was a regular at Rangers in the first half of last season, but always looked likely to make a temporary move this summer after interest from several clubs.
A switch to the Netherlands seems like a positive step for the Scotland Under-21 international.
And Middleton won’t be the only Brit on his new club’s books, with the English winger, Joshua Bohui, recently joining from Manchester United.
But perhaps the most interesting of the Rangers man’s potential new teammates is the one whose father is the former Celtic striker, Pierre van Hooijdonk.

Sydney van Hooijdonk, who was born three years after his dad’s £4.5 million transfer from Celtic to Nottingham Forest, broke into Breda’s first team at the start of last season.
But despite boasting a prolific scoring record – akin to his father’s – at youth-team level, Van Hooijdonk has yet to break his senior duck.

Perhaps a helping hand from Middleton, who has recorded five assists in 28 games for Rangers, will do the trick?
How big a role does Middleton have to play in the future of Rangers FC’s?
