Rangers ace Candeias has been somewhat of a journeyman throughout his career, but has settled down at Ibrox.
Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has told the club’s official matchday programme ahead of Saturday’s clash against Dundee that he has settled at Ibrox because the atmosphere is like a “family”.
The 30-year-old has developed a reputation as somewhat of a journeyman, after turning out for 11 different clubs prior to his move to Ibrox. He has played for the likes of Porto, Metz and Nuremburg.
Earlier this year, though, Candeias made the surprising decision and a career first to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract at Rangers, declaring his foreseeable future to be with the Light Blues.
He told Saturday’s programme that he chose to stick with Rangers because the club has the aura of a family, and described the Light Blues as a “great club”.
“I wanted to commit to Rangers because it is a great club and the people are very good – it is like a family here,” he said.
Signed by former boss Pedro Caixinha, Candeias has proven to be one of the Portuguese manager’s rare signings that have made a proper impact at Ibrox.
He has formed one third of a lethal attacking midfield behind Alfredo Morelos, alongside Josh Windass and Jamie Murphy, and has found the back of the net six times as well as laying on 11 assists.
He is likely to start against Dundee as Rangers look to put a run of three matches without a win behind them this weekend.
