Glasgow Rangers winger Brandon Barker has told The Scottish Sun that he is thankful to Celtic manager Neil Lennon for giving him the chance to play for Hibernian.

Barker, who joined Rangers in the summer transfer window after leaving Manchester City, is determined to beat Celtic despite Lennon now being in charge of the Hoops.

The 22-year-old winger worked with Lennon during his loan spell at Hibernian in 2017-18.

Barker told The Scottish Sun: “Neil gave me an opportunity and I was grateful to Hibs for doing that. But I am a Rangers player now and I’ll give everything for them.

“Do I want to beat him and Celtic? Yes, for sure. This is my club, this is my home and I want the absolute best for Rangers.”

Good signing for Rangers?

Barker is a very good winger who did well during his loan spells while he was at Premier League giants City.

The 22-year-old has arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation, but it could take the winger a while to get used to manager Steven Gerrard’s system.

The youngster will improve and develop in the coming years, and his determination to succeed at Rangers is certainly going to help him.

Rangers will take on East Fife in the second round of the Scottish League Cup on Sunday afternoon.
