Rangers winger Barrie McKay has been linked with a move away from the Gers. According to The Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are interested in signing McKay from Rangers in 2018.

It has been reported that Forest manager Mark Warburton, who worked with the 22-year-old winger at the Gers, wants to bring the youngster to the City Ground.

The Scotland international is entering the final year of his current deal. If the winger fails to agree on a new contract with Rangers, then he will be able to speak to interested clubs from next January.

McKay is one of the best young wingers in the Scottish Premiership and has played well for Rangers this season.

While Forest are a big club in England, the Rangers winger should be aiming higher than the Championship team.

The Reds narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship this season, and it is hard to see them launch a realistic challenge for the playoffs in 2017-18.

Rangers may not be able to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season, but Pedro Caixinha’s side should be at pushing for the runners-up spot at least.

McKay has a lot of potential, and if he decides to leave Rangers next year, then he should be looking to join a club in the Championship in England who are aiming for promotion to the Premier League.
