Rangers boss Mark Warburton wanted the defender at Ibrox, but he seems set for Greece instead.

Reports in Greece are suggesting that Aston Villa defender Joleon Lescott has agreed a move to Greek side AEK Athens, not long after rejecting a similar deal at Rangers.
The 34-year-old former England international has reportedly given AEK a verbal agreement to join the Greek capital club, as reported by Sport24.

The report states that the two clubs have exchanged documents over a deal and that Lescott will now be heading to Greece to finalise a move to the Superleague.
This news, if it turns out to be true, will surely infuriate Rangers.
Rangers’ move to bring Lescott to Ibrox on a free transfer collapsed last week.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton
The press gave differing reasons behind the failure of this deal.
The BBC reported he failed a medical whilst Sky Sports claimed he decided against a move as he did not want to uproot his family to Glasgow.
In the end it appears that the latter was behind his reason to not join Rangers.

Mark Warburton was clearly hopeful of bringing in the central defender to strengthen the squad, but his personal reasons against a Rangers move seemed fair.
If however he was to now hop-foot it across Europe to the Greek capital Rangers fans and their manager Warburton will rightly be frustrated with the Villa defender.
