Former Rangers boss Mark Warburton thinks ex-Gers skipper Lee Wallace has “all the qualities” to return to Ibrox in the future and manage the Light Blues – despite his “shocking” exit from the club two years ago.
Warburton appointed Wallace as captain at Ibrox and was left watching from afar as he was frozen out by Graeme Murty then Steven Gerrard as his Rangers career ended with a whimper.
After being reunited at QPR, Warburton thinks the ex-Scotland star deserves a “massive mention” for what he did at Ibrox
“Lee deserves a massive mention for what he did for Rangers, standing by that club,” Warburton told the Scottish Daily Mail. (Print edition, May 2, page 155)
“I know the way he left Rangers hurt him enormously. I thought it was shocking. It hurt him.
“But I have no doubt that he has all the qualities to one day be the manager of Rangers.
“He has all the qualities. The way he conducts himself, the way he speaks, the level of respect and his knowledge of the game.

“Lee deserves so much praise and credit for that. The role he played in getting the team back up was absolutely crucial.”
