Rangers already have two new players joining this month, but they want another in Reading’s Josh Laurent.

Midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh and attacker Fashion Sakala are both arriving on pre-contract agreements, bolstering Steven Gerrard’s squad.

There are new rumours emerging all the time though, and one of them surrounds Reading midfielder Laurent.

The Sun claim that Rangers and Brighton are in the race to sign Laurent for a fee of around £8million this summer.

The 25-year-old joined Reading on a free transfer from Shrewsbury Town last summer, and enjoyed a great first season with the Royals.

He excelled as a box-to-box midfielder, with his 6ft 2in frame and pace up and down the pitch proving effective in the Championship.

With just one year left on his deal, Reading may be forced to sell this summer, and fans have been reacting on Twitter.

Some feel that Reading simply can’t refuse £8million, believing that they should take the money.

Others believe that Reading need more money for Laurent as £8million just isn’t enough, urging Rangers to back off.
