Rangers are interested in Vladan Kovacevic
Reports from The Herald earlier this week claimed that Rangers have been eyeing up Vladan Kovacevic as a possible signing.
Kovacevic, 24, emerged as a quality goalkeeper in his native Bosnia and Herzegovina with Sarajevo.
Polish side Rakow swooped in to sign Kovacevic last summer and he has been a sensation ever since.
Kovacevic has been saving penalties left, right and centre in Poland.
Rakow manager Marek Papszun indicated that Kovacevic is ‘fast’ and that’s why he is able to make so many saves.
Kovacevic has already kept 16 clean sheets in just 34 games for Rakow and has emerged as one of the top goalkeepers in Poland.
Sportowe Fakty now back up The Herald’s claims, reporting that Rangers’ interest in Kovacevic is indeed true.
However, it’s stated that Lech Poznan and Legia Warsaw have shown an interest – but there is now a belief that he will cost too much for Polish clubs to afford.
Augsburg, Royal Antwerp and Bologna are also interested though, meaning Rangers will face a major battle for his signature.
The hope will be that Rangers impressed potential signings so much with their run to the Europa League final that they are a very attractive option for potential signings.
The battle for Kovacevic is fierce but Rangers’ interest may depend on the plans with McGregor moving forward.
