Rangers look to keep their unbeaten record intact ahead of the New Year derby

Rangers are looking to make it 20 Premiership games unbeaten on Saturday when they take on Hibs at Ibrox.

The Boxing Day encounter will be a feisty one if the two sides’ previous meeting is anything to go by.

September’s 2-2 draw was the last time Rangers dropped points in the league, with Hibs defender Ryan Porteous riling the visiting players and manager Steven Gerrard.

Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield were on target for Rangers, with Hibs’ goals coming from Drey Wright and Christian Doidge.

Morelos returned to the squad on Wednesday following a two-game suspension when he came off the bench against St Johnstone, but his frustrating spell in front of goal continued when he spurned a golden opportunity by dragging his shot wide.

The Colombian may have to settle for a place on the bench, while Ianis Hagi will be angling for another star after impressing in the 3-0 victory at McDiarmid Park.

FORM

Rangers have won 11 league matches in a row since that draw at Easter Road, and bounced back from their recent shock Betfred Cup defeat against St Mirren with six goals in two games against Motherwell and St Johnstone.

Their exceptional run of form has seen them accumulate a 16-point lead at the top of the Premiership.

Hibs sit in third, one point behind Celtic. They are unbeaten in their last six league matches, and beat St Mirren 1-0 at home on Wednesday night.

KICK-OFF

The match begins at 12.30pm on Saturday December 26.
