Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers U20s lost 3-2 to their Celtic counterparts in the Glasgow Cup final at Parkhead with Robbie Deas scoring the Hoops winner.

Glasgow Rangers Under-20s fell to a last-gasp defeat against their Celtic counterparts as an injury-time Robbie Deas goal condemned the Ibrox side to a 3-2 defeat in Tuesday night’s dramatic Glasgow Cup final and Old Firm derby at Parkhead.
Graeme Murty’s charges did not start well against their bitter rivals, surged into a two-goal lead before the break as centre-forward Jack Aitchison fired home inside the near post, leaving Gers goalkeeper Kieran Wright with no chance.
With seven minutes remaining in the half, Mikey Johnston then delivered a free kick which Wright connected with, but such was the placing and speed of the effort that once again the Light Blues stopper couldn’t keep it out.
To their credit, Rangers stepped up their game and went on to level against the hosts as Glenn Middleton struck a brace for the visitors, including a 30-yard strike in off the crossbar, but in injury time, Ewan Henderson’s free kick was not properly cleared and Deas beat Wright with a ferocious effort.

“The guys know we can’t give good teams a two goal head-start and expect it not to be a little bit frantic towards the end,” Murty told Rangers TV after the game.
“I thought they showed fantastic character to get back in the game and could have won it, but in the end, we have lost to a goal which is an unbelievable finish from the guy. Congratulations to him and congratulations to our opponent, but we didn’t deserve to lose.”
Up next for Rangers U20s is a Reserve League trip to Falkirk on Monday in which Murty will be hoping to steer his charges to the title.
