Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly looking to bring a host of defenders to Ibrox this summer.

According to the Daily Record, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wants to bring in at least three central defenders to bolster his back line this summer.
The Gers have already landed two new faces since the end of the season, as goalkeeper Allan McGregor and midfielder Scott Arfield have arrived from Hull City and Burnley respectively.
However, having appointed Gerrard as their new manager, Rangers need more additions this summer, with big signings expected for a boss who had such a huge reputation as a player.

Gerrard will be looking to improve a number of areas of his squad, but the position he is seemingly most concerned about is in the heart of his defence.
The Daily Record report that Gerrard wants at least three central defenders signed this summer, in an attempt to not only firm up a weak backline, but also cover for departures.
David Bates is heading to Hamburg, Bruno Alves may head back to Portugal and Russell Martin has returned to Norwich City at the end of his loan deal, all of which leaves Rangers short at the back.

As reported by the Daily Record, Rangers are pursuing Brighton and Hove Albion defender Connor Goldson after two rejected bids, and Gerrard will surely hope to get that deal over the line.
Bayern Munich’s Thomas Isherwood has recently been on trial, whilst the likes of Kyle Bartley, Reece Burke, James Collins and Gerrard’s ex-Liverpool teammate Martin Skrtel have also been linked.
With at least three wanted, Gerrard needs to get to work quickly ahead of the club’s Europa League campaign, and Rangers must prove their backing to their new manager by landing him those three centre backs.
